Dear Edgerton Families,
As we continue our journey to provide the best educational experience for our students, I am
excited to share our commitment to your child’s continuing growth both academically and
socially at Edgerton. At Edgerton we hold values of love, belonging, and connection, and
work to make sure every child and family feel that way when they walk through our doors. It is
truly an honor and privilege to work with your students.
Edgerton staff are committed to do and be the very best for your student. We continue to use
Personalized Learning to meet the unique needs, skills, and interests of each student, allowing
them to thrive in an environment that fosters their individual growth. Transformational Learning,
as defined by Montana’s educational guidelines, provides a flexible, student-centered approach
to help each child reach their full potential. At Kalispell Public Schools we use the term
Personalized Competency Based Learning (PCBE) to describe how we approach education for
students. Our goal is to ensure that every child at Edgerton can thrive in an environment where
they are actively engaged, motivated, and supported in their learning journey, and loved as they
walk in the door!
Here are some of our focus areas with PCBE:
● Student Achievement: We meet students where they are in their learning while
maintaining grade-level expectations.
● Student Agency: We encourage students to be accountable for their learning, while
helping them stay motivated and engaged.
● Incredible Teachers: Our staff are engaging and innovative in facilitating the learning of
all students. We are dedicated to ongoing professional development and continuous
growth to be the best we can be for students.
● Preparation for the Future: We focus on critical thinking, problem-solving, and
teamwork to prepare students for life beyond the classroom.
We are dedicated to working with you to support your child’s academic growth and personal
development.
Thank you for your continued partnership with us.
Sincerely,
Jen Stein
